Vicki Gordan is the former Senior Vice President and Chief Auditor of Unum Group. In that role, she was responsible for the Internal Audit, Internal Controls, and Internal Claims Audit functions and was accountable for ensuring effective control and risk management environment across Unum Group and its subsidiaries. Prior to that role, she was CFO of Unum’s National Client Group and US Business Development. She was responsible for the profitability and growth of Unum’s national account group insurance and voluntary insurance businesses, as well as all US business development activities, including mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and minority investments.
Over her 42-year career at Unum, Vicki held leadership positions in nearly every major business unit, with roles ranging from IT and business transformation, business performance and profitability turnaround, underwriting, and benefits, to finance, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and investments counsel. In addition, in 2015, she co-launched Unum’s Women’s Professional Network, a group of more than 1,200 employees focused on increasing gender diversity, equity, and opportunity at Unum. She served as Co-Executive Sponsor of this group until 2022.
She holds JD and MBA degrees, and is a Certified Financial Analyst. She is a member of the Cumberland County, Maine, and American Bar Associations.
She currently serves as Vice President and Trustee of the Portland Symphony Orchestra, and has served as an Olympia’s Leader Advisor for the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute, Treasurer and Board Member of Educate Maine, and Investment Committee member of Women United (an adjunct organization of the Greater Portland United Way).
