Announcing the Innovation for Good® Leadership Awards
To ignite & inspire innovation for social good, Bridge Innovate launched Innovation for Good®, offering free programs for communities and students. These programs, the Inspire Series, Bright Spark student programs, and Community Vibrancy Cohorts, are made possible by leaders who share our commitment to innovation. It’s our pleasure to announce the winners of the 2020 Innovation for Good® Leadership Awards.
In a disruptive year, let’s great to take a moment to recognize some leaders in our community who have ignited & inspired innovation for social good. Innovation for Good Leadership Awards® are awarded to leaders who were exemplary in one of the following areas:
Demonstrated a capacity for igniting and inspiring like-minded leaders at the Inspire Series.
Led students through the Design Thinking process during the Bright Spark student program.
Contributed and displayed leadership during the Community Vibrancy program.
It’s our pleasure to announce the winners of the 2020 Innovation for Good® Leadership Awards:
Marwa is a Science Teacher at River Trail Middle School. She led 40 teams made up of 108 students in our 2020 Bright Spark Fall Invention Challenge. Nine of her teams were finalists and two of these teams went on to win awards in Best Overall Middle School and Most Creative.
Lilo is a lecturer at Northeastern University whose Inspire Series webinar “Mobilizing Learning Labs to Respond to Community Challenges” brought in over 100 participants from 4 countries: including the U.S., Austria, Canada, and the Philippines. Lilo also served as a judge for the Bright Spark Fall 2020 Invention Challenge.
Katelyn was a team member in the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities Community Vibrancy Cohort. This cohort focused on the question: how might we increase recruitment, retention, and promotion of mid-career employees of color? Ultimately, the prototype the cohort developed used the design thinking method to create an organizational culture where people are comfortable having uncomfortable conversations. Katelyn was a top performer of the 2020 Community Vibrancy cohort with 47 contributing posts.
Amazing job to all of our award winners and, as we move forward into the next year, we want to know what we can do to make our Innovation for Good® programs even better. We need you, our community, to let us know what suggestions you have for improving our Bright Spark, Community Vibrancy, and Inspire Series webinars.
