My wake up call came unexpectedly early this morning when my very ill daughter wandered into my room at 4:30am. Instantly, I knew that my plan for the day was obsolete. I had no choice but to adjust my expectations and accept my "new normal" for today.
One thing I've learned as a wife, mother of two, and business owner is that the only constant in life is change. Complexity and chaos are close cousins to change, and they often go hand-in-hand. Like quicksand, circumstances can take us by surprise, disarm us, and drag us down. Let's face it; life is messy. The question is how do we stay on track and thrive in the midst of constant change?
